FARMS
There are some truly amazing farms hidden amongst the city or just outside that kids and families will love.
Our favourite is
Bocketts Farm , where you'll find tractor rides, huge natural playgrounds and so many animals to meet, greet and feed.

ZOOS
There are two great zoos to visit in London. The first being the famous
London Zoo , which is home to many exotic and exciting wildlife species.
The second, which is smaller but still just as exciting is
Battersea Park Children's Zoo . Both make for an excellent family day out to visit animals.
HORSE RIDING
If you have a budding horse rider at home or maybe fancy a family activity that's a little different, book onto a horse ride or some horse riding lessons at one of the many fantastic horse stables in and around London.
For lessons, short rides and horseback riding tours, check out
Hyde Park Stables or
Lee Valley Riding Centre .
POND DIPPING
Plenty of kids love the idea of water and animals so if you haven't tried it before, check out Pond Dipping as an outdoor activity. There's a hidden trove of nature and pond dipping treasure, right in the heart of London at Kings Cross, called
Cawley Street Nature Park , where children can watch for nature and pond dip to discover creatures who live in the pond.
Alternatively, grab your welly boots and head to Crane Park in South West London to discover frogs and other natural delights who call the river Crane their home.
Check out the
London Wildlife Trust website for more information and any upcoming pond dipping events.
AQUARIUM
Dive into an underwater world at the wonderful
London SEA LIFE Aquarium . With many different creatures and adventures to explore, it makes for a perfect family nature day out.
For our full review of the Aquarium, see

FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PICKING
If the sun's out and the family needs some fresh air whilst spending some quality time together, why not go along to a local produce farm where you can "pick your own" fruits and veggies.
A fantastic place to go is
Garsons Farm in Surrey. We recommend going to pick some of their delicious strawberries.
