With the glorious summer weather visiting London at the moment, it's a perfect opportunity to head outdoors with the family. Why not make a day of it and head to one of these wonderful farms found in and around London. Children of all ages will love interacting with the animals, playing in the playgrounds and having tractor rides. Some of these farms also cater for all weather conditions, so worth remembering if it's raining and cold.

1. Bocketts Farm, Letherhead
The whole family will enjoy a day out at Bocketts Farm. Not only is it a working farm, meaning you'll meet and greet all sorts of farm animals, there are a number of fantastic playgrounds to choose from, including a huge adventure playground and an indoor soft play area. Younger children will love the "Bocketts Young Drivers" where they get to pedal around on their own farm tractor. When you're done playing, purchase an animal food bag to feed the animals, take a ride around the farm on board a tractor or visit the old barn tea rooms for a delicious homemade lunch. At Belmont Farm kids will be excited to visit the vast amount of small and large farmyard animals. 3. Hobbledown, Epsom
For a mystical and adventurous day out, visit Hobbledown in Surrey, based on the fantasy book of the same name. As well as the usual farm animals, visitors will also get to see other animals such as camels, otters, wallabies, chipmunks and llamas. For an extra special experience, take part in the "Zookeeper for a Day". Keep your eyes peeled also for characters from the book, also known as the "Hobblers of Hobbledown", such as Huck, Tipp and Eliza. Children will love the huge adventure playground and jumping pillows, plus there is plenty of food available at the onsite restaurant.
4. Hounslow Urban Farm, Feltham
Animal lovers and families will be delighted when meeting the animals at Hounslow Urban Farm, one of London's largest community farms. From chickens, to barn owls, to cattle and to snakes, there's so many critters to visit. Throughout the day, there's plenty of chances to meet an animal or have a cuddle and at 1.30pm make sure to catch the Owl Display. The farm is open all year round and special events take place at certain times of the year, such as an evening Halloween event and a Christmas grotto.
5. Vauxhall City Farm, Vauxhall
Visiting Central London and need to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life? Vauxhall City Farm is a "little piece of countryside" in Central London. The farm is a registered charity and aims to provide visitors with educational activities and an insight into rural farm life. The farm is open all week except Mondays and also offers horse riding lessons within their approved riding school. With plenty of farm animals to meet and greet, the whole family will have a wonderful time.
