Experience a real working farm close to London
I recently went on a farm stay for a weekend away and it was such a wonderful experience for my whole family. Especially my toddler. There is something so special about seeing the animals found in picture books in real life and getting to pat and feed them.
While a farm stay every weekend may not be a practical option for our busy lifestyles, there is no reason why you can't show your little ones a taste of farm life on a lovely day out.

[Link https://www.belmontfarm.co.uk/ ] at Mill Hill is the only public farm of its size within the M25 and with over thirty different animal varieties, this working farm will astound your kids. With cows, sheep, pigs, ponies, goats, alpacas and chickens, you can pat bunnies, feed goats and even go on a tractor and trailer ride.
The best part about the farm is undoubtedly getting to see and meet all the animals. You can purchase feed from reception so you can feed the animals too while you give them a nice gentle pat. If you love the animals so much you want to meet them again, you can also hire them for your next birthday or event. That is if you don't hold your next birthday right there on the farm!

So what does your day on the farm entail? You can keep up to date on [Link https://www.belmontfarm.co.uk/whats-on whats on], but a great day out will start with meeting the jersey cows and calves. You can learn about the milking process and get insight into the dairy industry.
Every day at 11am,1pm and 3pm you get to meet the farms smallest creatures at the The Small Animals session. So if you have a little rabbit or rat lover, this is the perfect opportunity to hold them. You can also meet the sheep, ponies and even owls, and learn more about what makes these animals tick.
A really fun experience to be had at is the Tractor and Trailer rides. These run every hour and they do a big adventurous loop around the farm and valley seeing a variety of animals along the way on a 20 minute journey. The cost is £2.50 per person and tickets can be purchased at reception.

If you are feeling peckish, you can visit Belmont's onsite Cafe ' Field Kitchen'. This lovely cafe offers a selection of home made sandwiches and toasties, cakes and cookies. You can gobble them up while taking in the lovely view of the valley.
