On 31 August 2025 at Walthamstow Wetlands the session involves exploring the pond and the nearby patches of greenery to see which creatures are about. Toads and tadpoles are likely to make an appearance alongside less glamorous but charming residents such as woodlice and worms.

Activities include using nets to examine the animals living in the pond and turning over logs to reveal the minibeasts hiding underneath. Expect muddy knees, plenty of curiosity and creatures that are indifferent to polite conversation.
