Rainforest Cafe

by Sally Foster (follow)
Take a walk on the wild side

The Rainforest Cafe has been created to resemble an exotic jungle and will transport you straight to the Amazon rainforest. You will be surrounded by lush trees and wild animals, all in the heart of London's West End at Piccadilly Circus.

It has been an institution for more than twenty years, so if you haven't already taken your family for a meal there, now is a really good time. You can enjoy great food and drinks in jungle surroundings, all brought to life with the help of special effects and lifelike animatronics. You will be surrounded by tropical showers, cascading waterfalls and periodic thunderstorms.

Of course the most important part of visiting any restaurant or cafe is the food and drinks. The Rainforest Cafe specialises in American style food with international influences. They have tons of options both for adults and children, with lots of family friendly food. This includes steaks, rack of ribs, steak burgers, pasta dishes and American style salads as well as delicious desserts.

For children under 12 years they serve all the classic dishes that your kids know and love so parents can sit back and relax knowing their little ones will tuck in and enjoy a good family meal. This includes burgers, chicken bites, pizza, pasta and fish and chips. All kids mains are £7.90 and desserts are £3.60.

Rainforest Cafe also offers a Total Kids Adventure Menu for £16.40 where kids will get a main, dessert, soft drink and activity pack included.

If you come along to the Rainforest Cafe in December, they will be running their Christmas Party nights. And perhaps more importantly to the little ones, a personalised and private family grotto experience. Each ticket includes a visit to see Santa and his elves followed by a Children’s 2 course meal and drink in the restaurant.

A visit to Santa's grotto is now available every weekend from Saturday 10th November and then every day from Monday 3rd Dec until 24th December. Standard tickets are £40 per child and include a personalised visit to Santa, a Grotto goodie bag and a 2 course meal plus drink in the restaurant. You can book your tickets here.

Another wonderful feature about Rainforest cafe are the educational tours which are designed to bring the subject of rainforests to life for primary school groups. Groups can do either a tour or a tour with a lunch and by attending, you are actively saving 80m2 of rainforest through land purchase scheme with World Land Trust. See here for more information on this.

You can round out your visit with a trip to the gift shop and bring home a very special momento.
