There's plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in London, especially when the sun comes out! So turn off the screens, take the family outside and enjoy these fantastic action-packed, outdoor activities:
1. Go Ape
Located at four different locations over London,
Go Ape will have you swinging, climbing and zip lining through the trees. Have an adventurous day out with the family, with children from the age of 10 able to join in the fun! Remember to wear sturdy footwear and sensible clothes for your visit.
2. Cycle Hire and Experiences
For a traffic free, healthy way to explore the city, why not hire bikes for the family and see London on two wheels. Make the most of Transport for London's
Santander Cycle Hire scheme for easy, no booking necessary, hiring of bikes, found at many
docking stations throughout London.
There are other companies around London who hire bikes and have children's bikes and child seats available, such as
London Bicycle Tour Company . This company, as well as others, also do
cycle tours to book on to, including a three hour
family tour where kids can ride along the safe river Thames path and take in all the popular sites of London, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, St. James's Park and Horse Guard Parade.
For an action packed, cycling day out head to the awesome
Lee Valley VeloPark , a purposely built Olympic cycling complex and used for the London 2012 Olympic Games cycling events. With a number of different sessions and disciplines of cycling to choose from, kids have their own youth sessions available to participate in, where they can learn Track, Road, BMX or Mountain biking skills. For younger riders, there are balance bike sessions for ages 2 and pedal bike practice sessions for ages under 7. Adults can join in the fun too, so jump on a bike and have a go at these Olympic sports!

4. Rollerblading in Hyde Park
For the ultimate outdoor adventure, hire some roller blades for the whole family and head to the beautiful Hyde Park in Central London. With miles of skate ready paths through the park, you'll have hours of fun and get plenty of exercise and fresh air.
Skate hire can be found at several locations nearby.
London Skate Centre is located close to the park and can assist you with skate hire, as well as
Skate Fit where you can book lessons as well as hiring skates.
5. Boat Tours
For a different and fun way to see London with the family, jump aboard a river boat boat tour. There a several options to suit every family; whether it's a high speed boat ride or a leisurely afternoon river cruise.

Kids will love the amazing amphibious adventure that

6. Animal Zoos and Farms

As for zoo's, you can't go past the amazing
London Zoo , situated in central London and home to exotic animals, large and small. Get up close and personal with magnificent beasts, watch the daily events and shows or extend your stay and sleep over night in the
Gir Lion Lodge . Over the 2017 summer holidays, don't miss the prehistoric creatures at
Zoorasic Park .
Another fantastic zoo in London is
Battersea Park Children's Zoo . Designed with children in mind, it's the perfect place to take little ones for an adventurous day out in London. There's plenty of mammals, reptiles, birds and more to see, plus a family ticket can be bought for just £31. As an extra addition to your day, children can also take part in the exciting
Keeper Experience , where they can see what it's like to be a zoo keeper.
7. London Wetland Centre
For an adventure within an urban oasis for wildlife, head to the
London Wetland Centre situated just 10 minutes from Hammersmith. There's plenty to do for families, including taking a stroll around the many tranquil ponds, spot the different wildlife or visit the meadows and gardens.
If you're looking for a bit more action, check out the awesome Pond Zone, where kids can operate an underwater camera to see life within the pond. There's an indoor Discovery Centre, perfect for wet days, where kids can take part in interactive games and learn about the wetlands world and why water is so important to humans and wildlife. Kids will love the outdoors adventure playground, where they can climb rock walls, crawl through tunnels, fly along zip lines and get soaking wet in the water games!
