Are you finding that your little ones are missing out on certain learning at school or kindy? Do you feel that they may need something else to support their learning and growth?
Lavinia founder of
Words Make Sense , has recognised the need for holistic enriched learning through the use of stories as a learning tool. She is an educational Pyschologist with a Masters Degree in Clinical Pyschology. This has given her an exceptional insight into the developmental needs of children and be able to carefully curate
Words Make Sense online learning sessions that are stimulating, enriching and rewarding for all participants.
Christina has a little girl of 5 and she told me that she is “very happy to learn how to teach my daughter how to read and write. At school she learns these things too, but I was surprised to notice how many basic elements my girl didn’t learn at school (probably due to a lack of attention on her part or maybe a different teaching style).”
These online lessons are designed in such a way that they foster curiosity, nurture emotional intelligence and aid cognitive development.
Parents and their little ones will deepen their bond as classes spark creativity and appeal to their curious nature.
Anna has two children, a boy who is 3 and a girl who is 5. She said that “ I was surprised to see how Lavinia reads the stories to children, she gets immersed into them because she not only reads the text, but the images too or other elements that are in a book. She can make a child pay attention to a book for a longer time than I do and this helped me learn how to read stories to my children and make them pay attention for longer times”.
Online Lessons are for ages 3 to 7 and are carefully designed to be in line with the latest psychological research on cognitive development in young children, while also covering the Early Years Foundation Framework curriculum.
Each class is different from each other however, they are connected in such a way that children can develop complex understanding about English (reading, writing, spelling and comprehension), Math (numbers, shapes, Mathematical reasoning), Science, Creativity and social development and all these are packed with a fun!
Rachel is a mum of a 4 yo girl and she said: “we started to attend the Words Make Sense activities when they were done face to face in central London and we loved them. As a new lockdown came, the classes were cancelled and we were a bit reluctant to have them online, but the little one liked Lavinia very much, so we continued. My little girl learnt about seasons during these classes more than she did at nursery. It was a surprise even for me to learn some new things and put everything into perspective, be a bit more connected to nature and aware of the world around us. Another class that we liked very much was the one about Remembrance Day and for my daughter the highlight was the activity where she could see London under the Blitz and London now. Lavinia used some images that made all the WW2 stories so vivid that now it is impossible to forget this event. I love these classes, they are very informative and educational for my little one and she is very happy with them.”
Words Make Sense is a learning journey that starts with a children's book and takes the little ones through the discovery of moral values, seasonal events, science, reading, problem solving and much more.
