From August 14 to 16, 2025, the Barbican Centre in London will be home to . Upswing will be on hand showcasing their circus acts, and once you have seen how it is done, you can try your hand at some ground skills yourself. These workshops are open to anyone aged five and above, offering a chance to mess about with a few accessible circus tricks, like learning to juggle or other bits of manipulation that will not require you to join a professional troupe straight away. No experience is needed, so just rock up and have a go.

You will need to sign a waiver upon arrival, and if you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to be present to keep an eye on you. It is probably best to wear something comfortable that will not get in your way, and you should leave any jewellery at home. These sessions are rather popular, so be prepared for a bit of a wait as it is first come, first served. It is all part of the fun of the circus, really.
