There are some great places in and around London for those that adore all things transport, with the makings of a memorable day out.

London Transport Museum

London Transport Museum is the perfect place to take those that are engine obsessed. Explore the story of London's transport system from the past 200 years as well as futuristic concepts for urban travel. Kids will love to see all the big red London buses and younger children can have fun playing in the All Aboard play zone. Even better still, entry for kids is free!
The Ruislip Lido Railway
Many children adore trains so what better place to visit than

Brockwell Park Miniature Railway
For more train excitement, check out the fabulous miniature trains at
Brockwell Park Miniature Railway . The railway is open between March and October on Sundays, with return fares just £1 and under 2s riding for free.

For those with a love for planes, the
Royal Air Force Museum is a definite must to visit. View over 100 different aircrafts, including ones from the First World War. Climb into the seat of a Spitfire or enter another dimension in the awesome 4D theatre. Entry for all visitors is free.
Thames Ditton Miniature Steam Railway

Thames Ditton Miniature Railway is a wonderful place to visit for an exciting day out filled with mini locomotives. Young children (and big children!) will love riding on the trains and you can chose to ride on the elevated railway or the ground level railway, where you will find different sized trains.
Brooklands Museum
Brooklands Museum , birthplace of British Motorsport and aviation, as well as the home of Concorde, is an awesome place for transport lovers! Enjoy a range of different vehicles such as planes, motorbikes and cars, as well as exhibitions such as the aviation factory and the race track. Kids will love the variety of fun and interactive activities aimed for families, whilst under 5s can burn off some energy in the soft play area.
