This years Mother's Day falls on Sunday 11th March so it's time to get planning a special treat for mum. Here's some fantastic ideas and events happening around the capital:

Claridges High Tea

High Tea, or Afternoon Tea, is a wonderful way to spoil and thank mum. There's some beautiful places in London offering a delicious spread, such as traditional Afternoon Tea at Claridges or something different and a little like the Pret-a-Portea served at The Berkeley .

2. Mother's Day lunch or dinner

You're likely to find many restaurants around London that are offering special Mother's Day lunches or dinners. Remember these are likely to book up fast, so contact your favourite restaurant to make your reservation. Enjoy a special Mother's Day three course meal in the heart of Mayfair at The Anthenaeum Hotel or splash out and enjoy an elegant three course meal at The Ritz . 3. Sunday Roast

There's nothing better or more comforting than a good British Sunday roast, which all mums would appreciate, especially when they don't have to cook or wash up! 4. Orchids Festival, Kew Gardens

Whisk mum away for a floral adventure at the Kew Gardens Orchid Festival . Leave London behind and enter a colourful world of Thai orchids, handcrafted Thai umbrellas and a stunning Bang Pa-In inspired orchid palace. The event has been running throughout February and finishes on Mother's Day so be sure to check it out.

5. London Musical

For mum to sit back and immerse herself in high quality entertainment, why not book her tickets to see one of London's top west end musicals.
