Mon 25 May 2026

The American Museum in Bath, a quick drive from London, has a low key Memorial Day event on 25 May 2026 to remember US armed forces members and their families. It opens with a flag raising for Native veterans who didnt come home, then Kenneth Cozad Sr lays down some drum tributes for all the fallen. Noon brings storytelling from the South Mountain Community College Institute, complete with an open mic for anyone to chip in their service yarns or family lore. Expect family activities all day that nod to resilience and culture, because why not mix remembrance with a bit of creativity while youre at it.

From 10 a m to 4 p m theres a screening of Navajo Code Talkers A Journey of Remembrance in the Harnett Theater. Between 11 a m and 2 p m, Steele Auditorium hosts veteran artist demos, resource tables from community partners, the Heroes of Cibecue student book series, quilts for attending vets while they last, and kid friendly art activities. Storytelling and open mic run 12 to 2 p m with a ten minute breather at 1 p m. US veterans, active duty including National Guard and Reserve, and families get free entry with military ID or veteran designated drivers licence. Its at the American Museum and Gardens, Claverton Manor, Bath BA2 7BZ.
