In the dozy village of Mossy Bottom, young Jack rattles around a tatty farm with his mum and their cow Milkyway, daydreaming of better days. Then his mate Barry turns up, a bizarre beamstalk sprouts in the field, and poof, Milkyway gets beamed away by extraterrestrials. Jack hops aboard for a madcap rescue mission way beyond the village limits, crossing paths with a plucky space princess, her old man, and the dastardly Lord Vortex, whos scheming to nab the universe, Earth, and even sleepy Mossy Bottom itself. One wonders if hell pull off the save and get his mooing pal home.

Kicking off the 2026 season, is scripted and helmed by Wesley Hudson and Izz Ions, with Eve Millward calling the musical shots and Sophie Stockwell masterminding the moves. Its a daft sci-fi tweak on the classic tale, loaded with cheeky camp and nonsense. Catch it at Stanley Hall on 7 May 2026.
