It is the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, with over 700 years of history. Comprising of a castle and spectacular gardens, children will love the playgrounds and children of all ages, including adults, will love to make their way through the water maze and the 100 year old Yew Maze. There is also a collection of Miniature Model Houses, a boating lake, shops and restaurants.
The actual castle is fascinating, and children will enjoy it too as it is described as 'crenellated, moated and haunted'. It is like stepping back in time and you can weave a tale of what is hiding behind each nook and cranny.
The gardens are set on 125 acres and perfect for a picnic with your family, especially beside the picturesque lake. You can even bring along the furry members of your family.
There are year round activities suitable for children, which makes buying an annual pass a good option for the budget conscious. Children can try their hand at archery, shield painting and other arts and crafts. They can take in a round of jousting. Not actually jousting themselves, watching the professional knights do it!
Hever Castle also runs events year round. Currently there are daffodils in bloom, mothers day weekend, the renowned Easter Family Fun Day and May Day Festival coming up. [Link https://www.hevercastle.co.uk/whats-on/easter-family-fun/ Easter Family Fun Day] in particular is great for kids with a giant easter egg hunt and craft workshops.
The best part about Hever Castle for the kids is definitely the playgrounds. Acorn Dell Playground is a natural play area which includes a two metre high living willow structure, a giant sandpit, a grassy mound with three tunnels to clamber in and a slide and a climbing frame.

Acorn Dell Playgrounds aims to blend in with Tudor Towers Adventure Playground. Tudor Towers is a nine metre tall wooden play castle, bigger than a four bedroom house and complete with its own moat, drawbridge and three turrets. There’s even a secret dungeon to navigate. It is perfect for taking imagination play to the next level in a medieval theme.
With so much to see and do, I would highly recommend a trip to Hever Castle if you are looking for a fun day out with your family. You can even stay overnight, at one of their [Link https://www.hevercastle.co.uk/stay/ accomodation options].
