London's most beloved playground

The [Link https://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/kensington-gardens/things-to-see-and-do/diana-memorial-playground ] is one of the most popular and must see playgrounds in London. Located in Kensington Gardens, it was opened in memory of the late princess and inspired by the stories of Peter Pan.

The playground boasts a magnificent pirate ship climbing structure, which children of all ages can enjoy. Surrounding the pirate ship is a sand pit, play sculptures, a sensory trail and teepees to explore.

On busy days, a queue management system is put in place, so we can recommend you arrive early during peak holiday times. In fact, over 1,000,000 visitors enjoy this free playground each year! But with such a magical and imagination sparking place, set against a lush backdrop of trees and plants, there is no wonder it is so popular.

It is popular with grown ups too with plenty of seating and lots of safety precautions and inclusive of all abilities, which makes it a safe place to play. The playground staff will monitor activities, provide first aid and summon any other assistance that might be required. There is an area where less able and able-bodied children can play together.

If you need to pick up a coffee before playing (of course you do!) then the [Link https://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/kensington-gardens/food-and-drink/the-broadwalk-cafe Broad Walk Cafe] is right nearby and as well as coffee and tea, it offers handmade cakes, pastries and a range of delis on artisan breads. There are also lots of hot and healthy options which is unusual for many cafes near playgrounds.
