Centre Stage is a free, one-day multi-arts festival that temporarily hands George Street and Whittaker Square over to anyone who fancies making a bit of noise or paint. Think music, theatre, food stalls, art installations and a generous helping of public participation, from impromptu singalongs to people taking their sketchbooks out for a stroll.

On 13 September 2025 the Richmond town centre will feel less like a shopping street and more like a communal playground for creative activity, where civic benches become audience seating and you should not be alarmed if a busker is coaxing passersby into a conga.
