Learn about different animals and their habitats in a beautiful setting

With over forty different species of animals, the [Link https://www.britishwildlifecentre.co.uk/ ] is a wild animal collection, and the perfect place for your little ones to meet some of their favourite furry (or spiky!) friends up close.



With a philosophy of 'Conservation through Education', the will teach your kids about animals, some so rare you have probably never even seen.

Your visit includes a 60 acre Wetlands Nature Reserve with boardwalk for viewing the animals, as well as a deer park. There is also an undercover Barn and Hedgerow house filled with the smaller mammals for those rainy days.



All animals live in settings that reflect their natural environment so you can observe them as close to nature as you can. The aim of the Centre is to remain a non-commercial, small, specialist visitor attraction that provides a unique insight into the world of Britain's wonderful wildlife. Expect to spend at least up to 3 hours enjoying the Centre, more likely a whole day.



So what animals can you expect to meet? Animals at the include red squirrels, foxes, wildcats, otters, red deer, hedgehogs, badgers, owls and lots more.

The is perfect for children. In the high season, Pip’s Corner will keep children happy, as it has been set up as an activity area for them to enjoy. There are wildlife related activities available, such as climbing frames, stepping stones, heron’s nest building, jumping pit, slides and more. All activities are suitable for children age 3 to 6 years old.

If you are feeling peckish, you can stop by the coffee shop. The coffee shop serves hot and cold drinks, a selection of hot food, sandwiches, wraps, cakes, crisps, ice creams and confectionery. There is also high chairs for the little ones. Or bring along your own lunch and snacks and relax in one of two picnic areas. There is also a wildlife themed gift shop so you can take home a keepsake from your wonderful day.

Cost: Adults are £11.50, Children 3-15 are £8.50 and under 3 are free. There are also membership and family passes available.

Opening Hours: Open every Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday from 10am to 5pm in Spring/Summer and until 4pm in Autumn/Winter. Also open daily during state school holidays.

Getting There: There is a large carpark, as well as an overflow for 200 cars if you are driving which is free. The nearest train station is Lingfield on the London Victoria to East Grinstead line. From there you'll need a taxi, which will cost about £7, but as there is no rank it is advisable to pre book.

Good to Know: Wheelchair accessible and baby change facilities are available.
