No matter if you call him Santa Clause, Kris Kringle or Father Christmas, taking your kids to meet Father Christmas is an absolutely magical experience. Watching their little faces light up at meeting their hero in person, is a huge joy in a parent's life. And if they are a bit afraid and shed a few tears, it makes for a great photo op anyway!
So where can you take your family to meet Santa in London this year? We have scoped out some of the best spots and most famous Santas.
Be mindful that most of these events are very popular so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment!
It is the world's most famous toy store and one of the best, albeit busy, spots to meet Father Christmas. Because it is so busy, bookings are essential and can be done here. There will be loveable elves for fun, magic and theatre, with games and activities and a gift bag to take home.
Head straight to Santa Land via the family entrance and step into the magical grotto. As well as the big man, there is an Ice Slide as well as an Ice Trike Trail. It is truly a winter wonderland. Advanced bookings to meet Santa aren't available, so be sure the head there early to avoid long queues.
Mix your day out of visiting adorable animals with a trip to meet Santa. Santa and his helpers are coming to the zoo. It is a much less stressful experience for the parents as well, as children can play on the swings and slides while they wait. This can avoid some meltdowns.

Continuing a 150 year old tradition, Father Christmas is once again visiting his top secret headquarters for some Christmas magic. Children will learn Christmas magic, see the real sleigh and help the elves make enough toys in time for Christmas Eve. Children will be immersed in an hour long experience where they will meet a range of enchanting characters from the North Pole.
Each year, the town centre of Kingston transforms into a magical Christmas Market. With over 50 stalls selling festive goodies, arts, crafts and decorations, there is also plenty of seasonal food on offer. After soaking in the magic, take your little ones along to the children's Christmas zone. Here they will find funfair rides, a forest of candy canes and a chance to meet Santa and his elves.
For an extra special treat this Christmas that the whole family will love, head to Legoland in Windsor. The experience will be like no other; see the park like you' have never seen it before, full of Christmas LEGO magic and imagination! Enjoy a Christmas Land full of rides, shows and attractions, plus families can take part in building together in the elves workshop, and go on a scavenger hunt. The extra special part of the day will be meeting Father Christmas in his magical grotto

For something different, check out Santa's other form of transportation when he does not want to take his sleigh and bring the family to see Santa on his special train with the Epping Ongar Railway. Starting at North Weald Station, you will get the chance to get in the spirit with a sweet treat from the food stalls while listening to a live band. All before boarding the train with Santa!
