Get ready to trade your usual stroll for a lichen-loving adventure with Aspen Ecology and the Help Nature Thrive crew from The Royal Parks as we dive into the quirky and surprisingly enchanting universe of lichens in Kensington Gardens. You might not think of lichens as the life of the party, but trust us, these quirky little organisms have more stories than your overzealous uncle at family gatherings.

Between March 15 and 29, 2025, we'll wander the park, spotting these unique life forms that are part fungus, part algae, and all sorts of fascinating. Who knew nature could be so downright weird? So put on your walking shoes, bring your sense of humour, and let's discover just how beautiful and bizarre the world of lichens can be. After all, it's not every day you get to make friends with something that can survive in some of the harshest environments on Earth—or at least, not every day you get to stroll with folks who appreciate them.
