Swimming is a fantastic, year-round activity you can do as a family, to keep kids entertained and everyone active.

There are some fantastic swimming pools and leisure centres around the capital that are family friendly and offer a variety of facilities. Check out these ones for your next swimming outing:


Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre

The pools at Brentford Leisure Centre are so much fun for families. Kids will love riding the big water slide or playing on the floats and inflatables. Make sure you head to the main pool for when the wave machine starts!

Brockwell Lido

Brockwell Lido is a great 50 meter outdoor pool, perfect for those summer months. Keep an eye out for the family fun sessions with inflatables and floats.



London Aquatics Centre

After hosting the London 2012 Olympics, the London Aquatics Centre now opens its doors for the public and families to enjoy its fantastic swimming facilities. With three pools to choose from and different swimming sessions available, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Another huge highlight for families are the amazing Inflatable Aqua Splash Sessions, with different sized inflatable obstacle courses to enjoy.

Hampton Pool

A fantastic open air swimming pool in South West London, that's heated all year round at a warm 36 degrees, meaning you can even take a dip on a below freezing day! During the summer months, this pool is great to take the kids for a splash to cool off, in either the lane pool or the smaller teaching pool. Kids will love the two slides they can use and the fun inflatable sessions.

The Leisure Centre in Leyton has fun, family friendly pools, with swimming sessions available where everyone can enjoy the pool, without any lanes. The Aqua Play area is a fantastic area for children under 8 and their parents, where they can enjoy riding the water slides and begin being introduced to swimming.
