Family Friendly New Years Eve Events In London

The New Year is fast approaching, which means it's time to start planning how your family will celebrate. There are some fantastic places and events to take the whole family to celebrate this New Years Eve and to kick off your 2018 with a bang!

Check out these fantastic ideas for bringing in the New Year:

DAYTIME ACTIVITIES:

If you have younger children who may not be able to stay up late to see the New Year in, these fun daytime activities could be the perfect way to celebrate:

1. Watch a Show

London's West End hosts many fabulous family friendly shows, many of which have daytime and evening performances happening on New Years Eve. Take your pick from one of these great shows:

The Snowman, Peacock Theatre
The Lion King, The Lyceum Theatre
Aladdin, Prince Edward Theatre
Pantomimes, Various London Locations

2. Ice Skating

Over the Christmas period, London has many beautiful outdoor ice rinks for you and the family to enjoy, which could be the perfect way to celebrate New Years Eve. Try one of these great locations:


3. Museums

Visiting one of London's many fantastic museums is always a fun way to spend a family day out, so why not enjoy one of them for a memorable New Years Eve.

4. London Zoo

For a "roarsome" day out on New Years Eve, head to London's spectacular zoo, ZSL London Zoo. Enjoy visiting a huge variety of animal species, watch an animal feeding session and even experience becoming a keeper for the day. Plenty of family fun to be had!

2. Magic Lantern Festival

The wonder that is the Magic Lantern Festival in Chiswick, is open New Years Eve and ready to provide the whole family with a truly magical experience of lights and colour. 3. Winterville

Located on Clapham Common, Winterville is a fantastic idea for a family fun New Years Eve. Enjoy awesome activities, such as an outdoor ice rink, a family Christmas show, a roller disco, fairground rides and the award winning Big Fish Little Fish event. This is the perfect place to head to with the whole family for this New Years Eve.

4. Winter Wonderland

What's Christmas without a visit to the amazing Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park. With a huge list of attractions and things to do, you'll have a task trying to fit it all into one visit! Check out the many attractions such as the ice skating rink, the Cinderella on Ice show, the Ice Bar and the Christmas circus, to name a few. Test your nerves on one of the many thrilling rides, enjoy some tasty food and drink and visit Santa in Santa Land.

5. View the Fireworks

London's spectacular fireworks display on New Years Eve has become a ticketed event for safety reasons and unfortunately all tickets have now sold out. However, here are some ideas for firework viewing locations a little further out of the city:
