Easter is just around the corner. The Easter Bunny is getting his basket of eggs ready. The Easter decorations at the shopping centre finally make sense. I am already preparing myself for all the chocolate I am about to eat.
Chocolate aside, Easter means a lot of different things to different people. And there are plenty of events being held for Easter in London this year. The four day weekend is set to be a cracker!
These are a few of the family friendly events that are being held from Friday April 19 to Monday April 22.
Enjoy your Easter weekend at the Horniman at their annual easter fair. There will be an easter trail, craft workshops, storytelling and face painting in the gardens. There will also be a special storytelling performance inspired by 'The Hen That Laid The Golden Egg'. See here for more information and times on each event taking place. This is a free event.
Dates: Saturday 20 April and Sunday 21 April 10:30am to 4:30pm

If cadbury isn't your thing and your family is more of a lindt family, then head to Hampton Court Palace for the lindt gold bunny hunt around the home and gardens of Henry VIII. For some wholesome country goodness at Easter, visit Hen Corner for their Easter celebration. There will be activities like make your own hot cross buns and hugging hens. Be sure to book ahead as it will sell out!
Date: Saturday 21 April
Location: Hen Corner, Brentford, West London
Head to Walthamstow Wetlands for an easter egg hunt and egg decorating with pens and paints. Little ones can see the chickens and explore the wetlands, as well as taking home a chocolate easter egg prize. All for 10. You can book online and it is suitable from age 2.

Instead of searching for Easter Eggs, enjoy searching for giant easter ducks instead! Hidden amongst trees and reeds, follow the clues to find the ducks and there are prizes to be won. There will also be other fun easter related activities happening, see here for more details.

None of these events take your fancy? Why not plan something of your own!
For my group of friends who all have kids, we are putting together an Easter Bunny Picnic. Similar to a Teddy Bear Picnic, all the kids will bring along a bunny, and we will have our own easter egg hunt and bring along a plate each to share.
