With May half term fast approaching and then the long summer holidays, we've found some amazing places located just outside of London to help entertain you and the kids.

Bekonscot Model Village and Railway Location: Buckinghamshire
For a truly wonderful day out just outside of London and a place that the whole family can enjoy, head to Bekonscot Model Village and Railway. With so much to see and enjoy, including the miniature railway, the models and villages, a ride on railway, beautiful gardens and a children's play area, everyone will be kept entertained.
One of the UK's most popular theme parks for kids is Legoland in Windsor. Lego fans will be in awe at all the lego models and kids of all ages (and their parents!) will enjoy all the lego themed rides. The resort has literally been "built for kids" and with over 55 interactive rides, shows and attractions, there's plenty to keep everyone busy. Toddlers will love the entire DUPLO-themed area and older kids can play the day away on the huge Castaway Camp adventure playground. Other highlights include digging for pirate gold, the 4D movie theatre, the lego Star Wars miniland model display and the two water play areas: Drench Towers and Splash Safari.
Got any digger and truck mad fans in your house? Then Diggerland is a definite must to visit! Children (and adults!) can have fun riding, driving and operating real diggers, dumpers and other full sized construction machines! As well as this, there's also lots of fun rides for all ages to enjoy too.
For a historic day out, head to the wonderful Hatfield House, only 21 miles from Central London and 20 minutes on the train from Kings Cross. Get the kids to take part in the children's quiz as they wander through the house, whilst you take in all the fascinating items the house has to see. Make sure you head outside to the Hatfield Park Farm and Bloody Hollow Adventure Playground.
For a genuine Safari experience that the kids will love, check out this awesome Safari Park. Home to all kinds of fantastic wildlife, such as tigers, elephants and giraffes, take a drive across the plains to see the animals up close and personal. Also check out the high ropes course, the miniature railway and the indoor soft play area.
Bluebell Railway Location: East Sussex
Voted as one of the top 10 tourist attractions in Sussex, a trip on the Bluebell Railway is a must for families. Enjoy a ride on a traditional steam train between East Grinstead and Sheffield Park. Sit back and relax whilst taking in the countryside views or even book on for a special package, such as an Afternoon Tea or a Jazz session.
For a family trip with a little difference, enjoy a guided tour of Chislehurst Caves. Head 30 meters below the ground and explore the caves by lamplight. There's also a gift shop and a cafe to enjoy once you're finished in the caves. Please note, the caves may be unsuitable for prams and wheelchairs, due to the natural uneven floor surfaces.
The Box Hill Spy Mission Treasure Trail Location: Box Hill
Get outside and enjoy nature with the whole family, whilst also doing something that'll keep the kids entertained, The Box Hill Spy Mission Treasure Trail. This self guided tour, done at your own pace, is approximately 2.2 miles long and suitable for all ages from 6. Solve clues and complete missions, just like a real agent. Take in the pleasant countryside surroundings and some breathtaking views.
