Best Places to Cure a Chocolate Craving

by Sally (follow)
Sink your teeth into these sweet options...

I love chocolate. It is a slight obsession of mine and one I try not to indulge too much so it remains a special treat. So when I do decide to cure those cravings, I want it to be truly excellent.

Here are some of the best places in London to go to for amazing chocolate. We may have missed International Chocolate Day on 7 July, but truly, chocolate can be enjoyed on any day of the year.

The Chocolate Museum

Not quite your typical museum. Probably more interesting to kids than some you have taken them too though! Located in Brixton, The Chocolate Museum currently has a tasting trail, where you can taste and learn about the history of chocolate. There are also workshops run where children can make lollies and truffles and learn how to temper chocolate, shape ganache and fudge or even make a wonka bar in honour of Roald Dahl!

Location: 187 Ferndale Road, Brixton, SW9 8BA
Opening Hours: Wednesday to Friday 2-7pm, Saturday to Sunday 11am to 5:30pm
More Info: info@thechocolatemuseum.co.uk or 44 (0) 7723434235

It is a bit of a crazy name, but it is recommended by chocoholics across London. Selling unbelievable cakes and chocolates, that are handmade, you can pop into their shop or even order a bespoke cake for your next party. Or just a Tuesday afternoon. Some of the bestselling chocolate includes rose and violet creams, chocolate marshmallow, salted caramel mendiants and rice krispy and fudge chunky bars.

Location: 27 Shorts Gardens , Covent Garden, London , WC2H 9AP
Opening Hours: Monday to Thursday 11am to 7pm, Friday 11am to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 7pm and Sunday 11am to 7pm.
More Info: Phone 44 (0) 207 2403011 or email london@choccywoccydoodah.com

Melt Chocolates

As well as having incredible chocolate, Melt also has lollipop making classes for kids. Children get involved with some hands-on piping and painting with coloured cocoa butters and create their own unique design on a milk or dark lollipop. There are also classes for teenagers where they can learn about chocolate and get stuck into the making of it. Melt also has sugar free chocolate on offer if that is more your thing!

Location: 59 Ledbury Road W11 2AA Notting Hill and 6 Clarendon Road W11 3AA Holland Park
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday 10am to 6:30pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm
More Info: Phone 442083540850 or Email office@meltchocolates.com

Melange Chocolates

A chocolate filled oasis making speciality award-winning hand-made chocolate bars and truffles, Melange also has hot chocolates and cakes. Melange plays host to the workshops at the chocolate museum, but also offers truffle making and chocolate and wine tasting workshops for the adults. You can even become part of their chocolate club and get chocolate constantly delivered to your door. That is a time that I will happily greet the postman.

Location: 2 Maxted Road, London SE15 4LL
Opening Hours: Thursday to Friday 12:30pm to 7pm and Saturday to Sunday 10:30am to 6pm
More Info: Phone 07722650711 or Email info@themelange.com
