Battersea Park and Playgrounds

by Sally Foster (follow)
An adventure playground set to let imaginations soar

Situated in inner city London close to Hyde Park Corner, Battersea Park is a wonderful family day out. Children will love the playgrounds that this park has to offer, and you will love the riverside views and the woods you can take an adventure walk through.

At Battersea Park you can take a walk amongst the trees or through the stunning gardens, rent a bike, watch the boats, play a game in the open fields or even try your hand at a round of putt putt for mini golf and pizzas. If you have a very adventurous family member, you can even try out the high ropes course.

If you have ventured into Battersea Park with the sole purpose of checking out the playgrounds, the playgrounds have been constructed to appeal to all ages. From babies to toddlers, there is even an adventure playground the older kids will love. Even teenagers will enjoy this playground.

The adventure playground for the older children features rope swings, zip wires, tunnel slides, swings, trapeze bars, activity rockers and stationery imagination play equipment.

If you have younger children, they have their own toddler playground situated next to the adventure playground. This is perfect to keep both sets of ages entertained!

Access to the park facilities opens at 6.30am to 10.30pm. If you are after snacks or coffee, you can visit the Pear Tree Cafe and either dine in or pick up a takeaway so you can have coffee in hand while you watch your kids play.

If you are looking for even more playgrounds, then the Battersea Zoo also has its very own adventure playground on site. You have to pay the admission cost to enter the zoo, but you will find it could be worth it for the awesome playground.

Your kids can run free in the sand bottomed play area, while they slide down a multitude of slides, engage in imagination play in the water play area, take a ride in a helicopter, drive boats on the pond or climb atop the fort. Parents can sit back and relax on the picnic tables provided.

A benefit to paying the entry to this playground is you can also check out the amazing animals! You can find a full review of what you will find at Battersea Park Children's Zoo here.

Battersea Park has toilets with baby changing facilities and disabled access.
